This maths resource relates to place value: tens and ones. Please note it is a hands on resource and the lesson plan should be used in conjunction with the presentations as there is a lesson starter presentation. It can be used for reviewing tens and ones or teaching it from scratch, so the detailed lesson plan is flexible. Some preparation is needed to carry out the activities such as collection of different coloured straws, elastic bands, suggested materials such as counters, unifix cubes; cut out the 1 digit number tiles for the worksheet or you can get children to select two numbers from a pile, write it down and then describe the place value - see 5. in the list below. This product contains: Lesson Starter PowerPoint Presentation - Counting in tens from 0 to 100 and back. Also included is the Hundred Square if you need to demonstrate counting in steps or groups of 10. Main Lesson PowerPoint Presentation (50 Slides) together with lesson plan Detailed Lesson Plan (Presentation slides are referred to)- Includes whole class and independent activities. Place Value Grids - tens/ones and tens/units - for practical activities Blank Place Value Grid Worksheet and Cut/paste activity sheets for making 2-digit numbers. Children choose a 1 -digit number from container 1 and another 1-digit number from container 2 to make a 2-digit number which they stick onto their worksheet and describe the number, e.g. 35 = 3 tens 5 ones; 30 + 5. This pack relates to euros and euro cents currency. Updated 17 May 2022 to include two versions of the original Presentation and worksheets showing the different ways euros/cents are written. Aimed at KS1/Kindergarten/Grade 1 and ESL/EFL students. The presentation can be used as follow-up to the first pack and builds upon the skills students have learnt previously. It still uses a step-by-step approach to teaching money but using higher value coins. This pack contains: <strong>A comprehensive PowerPoint Presentation (53 Slides) - divided into convenient sections. </strong> 1.Reviewing coins and their values, money exchange and using the 50c, €1 and €2 coins. 2. Using €1 and €2 euro coins. Using combination of coins to equal the value of the one euro and two euro coins. 3. Using euros and cents together - this is explained in the presentation with various whole class activities 4. Giving change from €1 and € 2 euro coins. The Presentation also includes whole class activities and different strategies students can use to work out money problems. Students also learn to change, e.g. 125 cents to €1.25/1,25€. **4 Flexible Lesson Plans - contains objectives, plenaries and main lesson. This maths pack relates to weight/mass lessons aimed at: EYFS/Year 1/2 A practical-based topic - to get children involved in comparing and weighing different objects and using vocabulary related to mass. UPDATED WITH ANSWER SHEETS AND TEACHER NOTES MAY 2019 There are 7 Lesson Plans (with learning objectives) and Presentations. Worksheets and practical activities for whole group teaching. Please see Preview Panes. The pack consists of: -Sound and how sound travels including sound waves, vibrations, pitch, volume; -The sounds we can make with our voices and what happens; -How we hear; -How some animals hear; -How to get sound from different musical instruments and what happens; and -The type of listening devices we use to locate sound, stethoscopes, hearing aids etc. 19 audio sounds for listening activities (MP3 audio) Lesson 1: This is about how we use our voice and the different sounds we make. There is a diagram of how our voice works which includes vibration, pitch and how we need our teeth and tongue to produce sounds. Activity: students are given a very short text to add vocal sound effects to in their groups - narrator/reader reads the short text (print this off the Slide) and the other students decide on vocal sound effects to add. Lesson 2:- This is about musical instruments and how we produce sound from them (bang, hit, shake, pluck etc.) and group them into their categories (wind, stringed, percussion)- Grouping Activity sheets and Listening activity. Lesson 3 - This is more practical and students plan and design their musical instruments. They are given ideas on what to do, e.g. make a guitar from cereal boxes, the handle is made of kitchen towel tube, strings are various sizes of elastic bands etc. Lesson 4: This is about how we ear (also video youtube link - Children learn about the anatomy of the ear (outer ear, middle ear and inner ear) and how we receive and process sound. They also learn about why we get dizzy (semi-circular canals in our ear is filled with fluid). There are worksheet activities and Listening activities on PowerPoint Presentations. Lesson 5: This lesson is about different listening devices such as the stethoscope, ear trumpets that were used in the past and versions of it that are used to hear unborn babies. Students: make ear trumpets and pot telephones learning how sound travels to the ear via the string attached to the plastic cups. Students test different cups and length of strings. Lesson 6: This lesson is about how some animals move their ears to hear sounds and locate their prey. - Activities: Students work with a partner to complete their worksheets with missing words. Lesson 7: Investigation - Explores sounds get quieter when you are further away from its source - Sounds for Kids All the lessons include information on volume, pitch, vibrations and sound waves. <strong>This resource is about the lost son parable relating to forgiveness. It is for whole school assembly.</strong> It contains: PowerPoint Presentation Teacher’s Guide on how to conduct the assembly Playscript of the Parable Posters for display Cross-curricular to Religious Studies and Citizenship. The theme is ‘forgiveness’ based on The Parable of the Lost Son. Learning Objective: To understand what forgiveness means. Children are asked why we should say ‘sorry’ and understand the meaning of forgiveness and understanding. The children are asked about their own experience of getting hurt and wanting that person to say sorry and what it feels like if they don’t apologize. They are taken through the story and asked questions along the way. I’ve written a playscript based on the story. You may wish to have a group of children act out the story instead of reading it on the slides. There are questions on the slides for children to think about.

I have uploaded two sets of lower case letters a to z to be printed onto card paper and laminate. A lovely addition to your Alphabet/Phonic station. Aimed at EYFS/Year 1, EFL/ESL students Children practise moulding dough on top of the letters with dough/ plasticine. Children practise writing inside the letters with different colour drywipe pens. Print out as many times as you like - children can draw pictures beginning with the name of the letters. Opportunity to use as a teaching resource showing children how to form lower case letters. Ideal for early finishers and for those pupils who need more practice in adding up coins. Print off, cut out and glue into workbooks You may wish to record pupils’ work and so this resource is great for cutting out and sticking into workbooks or onto plain paper. Pupils do not have to work through the task cards in number order. Whatever ability the pupil is at, you can choose the appropriate task card. There is a Recording Sheet with space for the pupil’s name and date for when each activity card was completed. Alternative uses I have included blank card and coins which you can prepare to suit the needs of your pupils. E.g. Write the amount of money on the right-hand side of the card and then pupils cut out the coins to match the amount of money you have written down. Pupils can cut out the little flags and stick on the blank task cards. For small group or one-to-one activity Lay out cards that have the same value but different combinations of coins. Ask pupils to match the cards that add up the same amount and elicit what coins were used on each card. E.g.
